Reb Ezra Weinberg is a rabbi, ritual musician, and educator dedicated to helping individuals and communities navigate life’s most complex transitions with care, dignity, and intention. He joins the high holiday team at Temple Beth El this fall in the role of Chazan. Wherever he goes, he brings a deeply compassionate and facilitative approach—creating spaces where people can engage meaningfully with challenge, growth, and connection.

A gifted prayer leader and musician, Reb Ezra was part of the inaugural cohort of the Rising Song Institute and is a graduate of the Davening Leadership Training Intensive (DLTI), experiences that continue to shape his soulful, inclusive approach to Jewish ritual and communal life.

Reb Ezra is the founder of Jews Get Divorce, a resource network supporting Jews through the divorce process, and co-founder of Areivut, an initiative focused on strengthening communal responses to life transitions. His work is grounded in the belief that no one should face these moments alone, and that Jewish communities can become more responsive, empathetic, and resilient.

In addition to his focus on personal transitions, Reb Ezra supports communities in engaging difficult and nuanced conversations, including those surrounding Israel and Jewish identity. He holds a Master’s degree in Conflict Transformation and is committed to fostering understanding and healing at both the personal and communal levels. He currently resides in Philadelphia, where he continues to build bridges within and across Jewish communities.
